Brief facts about fiberglass:

Fiberglass or fibreglass is a common type of fiber-reinforced plastic using glass fiber. The fibers may be randomly arranged, flattened into a sheet called a chopped strand mat, or woven into glass cloth. The plastic matrix may be a thermoset polymer matrix—most often based on thermosetting polymers such as epoxy, polyester resin, or vinyl ester resin—or a thermoplastic. Cheaper and more flexible than carbon fiber, it is stronger than many metals by weight, non-magnetic, non-conductive, transparent to electromagnetic radiation, can be molded into complex shapes, and is chemically inert under many circumstances. Applications include aircraft, boats, automobiles, bath tubs and enclosures, swimming pools, hot tubs, septic tanks, water tanks, roofing, pipes, cladding, orthopedic casts, surfboards, and external door skins.

Bulk moulding compound - Bulk moulding compound, bulk moulding composite, or dough moulding compound, is a ready-to-mold, glass-fiber reinforced thermoset polymer material primarily used in compression moulding, as well as in injection moulding and transfer moulding.

Fiberglass sheet laminating - Fiberglass sheet laminating is the process of taking a thin fiberglass sheet and laminating it to another material in order to provide strength and support to that material.

G-10 (material) - G-10 or garolite is a high-pressure fiberglass laminate, a type of composite material. It is created by stacking multiple layers of glass cloth, soaked in epoxy resin, then compressing the resulting material under heat until the epoxy cures.

Glass fiber reinforced concrete - Glass fibre reinforced concrete is a type of fibre-reinforced concrete. The product is also known as glassfibre reinforced concrete or GRC in British English. Glass fibre concretes are mainly used in exterior building façade panels and as architectural precast concrete.

Hobas - HOBAS is a manufacturer of centrifugally cast glassfiber reinforced pipe systems made of unsaturated polyester resin with diameters ranging from 150 mm to 3600 mm. The company was founded in Basel, Switzerland in 1957.

Ignace Dubus-Bonnel - Ignace Dubus-Bonnel was a French craftsman in Paris, who most notably was the first to get a patent for a method of creating and weaving glass threads, the predecessor of fiberglass, in 1836. He was born in Lille.
